No, this post is not about my relationship status!
It is about a natural wonder I fell in love with in Tanzania. They call her Kikuletwa hotsprings (or Chemka Hotsprings).
Gosh! It was so beautiful to stumble upon such a perfect oasis in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere!
I had been in Tanzania for over 2 weeks but most of my time was spent in Zanzibar as I needed to meet some of our partners and hoteliers in person. It was long and arduous but i wasn’t complaining because Zanzibar is such a beautiful island.
On my way back to Dar es salaam from Zanzibar, i decided to stop in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania to see this Hotspings I had heard so much about.
First, I got a driver and guide to drive me up to Materuni waterfalls which is located in the same region. It was quite the hike up to the waterfall and at this point i would advise that if you have mobility problems this tour isn’t for you.
If there is any thing i didn’t like about this trip, it is that i rushed it. I wished i had spent a lot more time just soaking Materuni in. It was such a special place.
We left Materuni and proceeded to Chemka hot springs(where i fell in love!)
As i said earlier, it really did seem to be in the middle of nowhere.
I kid you not, there was something very magical about this spring. It reached right through my chest, tugging the strings of my heart and I couldn’t resist.
Something about the sparkling of these waters reminded me of a million tiny diamonds in the sun.
Places like this make me feel awestruck by God because The Being who created this definitely deserves my worship and respect!
